Credit card application, where to start

When you're just starting to build your credit history and you have a student's unsteady income, this can be a barrier. However, credit card issuers who offer student credit cards have taken this into account. Some require you to have a cosigner, usually a parent or guardian, whose own income is high enough to assure that the credit bills will be paid. Other credit card issuers allow you to sign for the card on your own. If you choose a card that requires a cosigner, be aware that the cosigner can see all the purchases you make.
